Russia’s Lukoil launches high-capacity facility at Stavrolen
BUDYONNOVSK, Stavropol Region, Feb 16 (PRIME) -- Russian oil major Lukoil has launched the first complex of a gas processing facility with a capacity of 2.2 billion cubic meters of gas annually at its petrochemical plant Stavrolen in the city of Budyonnovsk on Tuesday.
“The launch of the first start-up complex of a Stavrolen’s gas processing facility is one of a range of Lukoil’s projects, the launch of which is scheduled for 2016. I am sure that each of them will significantly influence economic development of the company, as well as regions of its presence,” Lukoil CEO Vagit Alekperov said.
The launch of the facility will allow the company to process associated petroleum gas (APG) from the northern part of the Caspian Sea. Lukoil plans to produce polypropylene and polyethylene from APG.
